Network Vision
Below are a few other basic guidelines for participation in this space. Those are not meant to be enforced rigidly, but we may remind you of this page whenever the need arises. It aims to smooth out unnecessary conflicts before they happen, by giving you the overall vision for this network. It will also help you to decide if this network is an experiment you want to be part of, or not.
This is an International network.
This network has no prevailing culture. Some people think we should also adopt Chinese manners and morals when we decide to study Chinese astrology. That is of course not reasonable. When Chinese people decide to study Western astrology it is also not expected that they start living and behaving like Italians or Germans. So here everyone is free to act, live and respond according his own culture, as long as it does not violate the space of others.
Language.
It is allowed to post messages and have discussions in languages other than English. Members can use Google Translate or other tools if they want to participate in a language they don’t know. So bear in mind that the responses may not always be perfect language if we have a discussion in Italian for example
Respect for other members
This network has no hierarchy. Everyone is equally a member here. We do have several teachers and authors on the network, but they are also equally a member just like everybody else. They do not get more or less respect than anybody else, so it is perfectly OK to disagree with what they say and discuss it. It is equally OK to disagree with the network administrator. But always try to bring your facts, reasons or arguments why you disagree with something. That is only fair and has nothing to do with disrespect.
Stay on topic in comments and discussions.
Please pay attention to the topic of your replies, and check that it still relates to the original topic of the post. If your comment is besides the topic, please contribute it as a new post.
Allowed topics and off-topic.
Topics need not be strictly related to Chinese metaphysics all the time, members are welcome to make occasional posts or announcements about other interests they have. Of course it is always better if some connection to feng shui, i ching or Chinese astrology is made. Repeated off-topic messages that make no connection to the main topics of our network, may get removed as spam.
Identify your subject matter.
To ensure that your message reaches the right people at timely manner, identify your subject matter clearly in the Title. You may also want to ‘tag’ your post with a few key words. This helps others to find the topic they are looking for and bring you more readers.
Announcing your goods or services.
One of the purposes of this network is to bring like-minded people together and have a platform where we can exchange what we do. So everybody is welcome to announce their events, books, courses, services or products, as long as it is connected to our field. You can make one announcement post. Please do not make repeat posts if there is no major change to the event or product. It will be removed as spam. Of course, if there are updates or new details about your product, then you can always add it as a comment to your original announcement.
Copyright.
Original messages posted on this network remain copyright of the author. Always ask their permission if you want to use their material in your own publication. Do not post materials that belong to somebody else (member or not), unless you have their permission to do so. Improperly quoted materials that do not mention the source, may get removed.
Moderation.
Sometimes photos, videos, or messages may have to pass moderation before they appear on the network. Members who neglect our basic rules repeatedly despite warnings, may get suspended from the network. If in doubt about anything you want to post, just send a personal message to the network administrator.
