it occurred to me that one single minute difference can be enough to change a zi wei chart completely,this makes me suspect of the system. in bazi changing the hour pillar wont change a chart dramatically

That’s a fair point.

Or as somebody once told: “astrology is like water: you can pour it in any shape glass and it will always take the shape of the container”

The astrology chart always seems to fit the person. In our mind we flex and fold the astrology principles until it fits the person (= the container).

That’s why we are so good at explaining the past and the already known present with it.

E.g.: somebody comes to us with heart troubles and we look for weak Fire in his chart - if we don’t find weak Fire we try to find abundant Water - if we don’t find abundant Water then we find a clash to Fire - if we don’t find a clash to Fire we may find a Harm to it - if we don’t find a Harm to Fire we can perhaps find a combination affecting the Fire……. well, chances are good we will find something to explain the heart problems. And if we don’t find, then we can always say that the person has strong heart, but he doesn’t exercise enough.

Why?

There are earthquakes every year. Tsunamis are rather rare.

In the previous ren chen year, 1952, there were deadly earthquakes, but not more so than in other years.

To what an extend the superstition can reach: "children born on certain dates are prone to autism". This will be unnecessary frightening for all new mothers who give birth on those supposedly bad days. Autism doesn't depend on the date of birth.

The Nobleman (Tian Yi Gui Ren 天乙贵人) is an auspicious symbolic star in Four Pillars astrology. It neutralizes the negative influences and is supposed to bring good luck. Thanks to it, one can easily receive help from others – visible or invisible assistance.

There are many speculations about this symbolic star. After learning that they have Nobleman in the horoscope, many people become highly elated, feeling that they are protected by some sort of angels and higher beings. And if you tell them that they have 2 or 3 Nobleman stars in the chart, they become very excited: “Wow, I have 3 guardian angels!”. This way of thinking easily leads to illusions and misunderstandings.

The calculation of the Nobleman star is based on the heavenly stems combination. Normally the stems combination is regarded as a positive aspect in Chinese astrology and therefore this symbolic star is given a positive characteristics of assisting the person and removing the obstacles of his way. But there really is nothing that much special in the meaning.

The Qing Dynasty book “Qian Ding Xie Ji Bian Fang Shu”《钦定协纪辨方书》 points out:

“The Nobleman star divides into Yang Nobleman and Yin Nobleman. The calculation of Yang Nobleman starts from Jia Zi (Rat) and is clockwise, while the calculation of Yin Nobleman starts from Shen (Monkey) and is counterclockwise.”
For Yang Nobleman, the calculation formula is Jia (Yang Wood) + Zi (Rat). From this base we look at the stems combination and find the branch of the corresponding, i.e. the combined stem:

Jia (Yang Wood) + Zi (Rat) —> Jia (Yang Wood) combines with Ji (Yin Earth), therefore for Ji the Yang Nobleman is in Zi (Rat).

Yi (Yin Wood) + Chou (Ox) —> Yi (Yin Wood) combines with Geng (Yang Metal), therefore for Geng (Yang Metal) the Yang Nobleman is in Chou (Ox).

Bing (Yang Fire) + Yin (Tiger) —> Bing combines with Xin (Yin Metal), therefore for Xin (Yin Metal) the Yang Nobleman is in Yin (Tiger).

Ding (Yin Fire) + Mao (Rabbit) —> Ding combines with Ren (Yang Water), therefore for Ren (Yang Water) the Yang Nobleman is in Mao (Rabbit)…”

For Yin Nobleman the calculation formula is Jia (Yang Wood) + Shen (Monkey). From this base we look counterclockwise.
Jia (Yang Wood) + Shen (Monkey) —> Jia (Yang Wood) combines with Ji (Yin Earth), therefore for Ji the Yin Nobleman is in Shen (Monkey).
Yi (Yin Wood) + Wei (Goat) —> Yi (Yin Wood) combines with Geng (Yang Metal), therefore for Geng (Yang Metal) the Yin Nobleman is in Wei (Goat).
Bing (Yang Fire) + Wu (Horse) —> Bing combines with Xin (Yin Metal), therefore for Xin (Yin Metal) the Yin Nobleman is in Wu (Horse).
And so on…

Whenever a geng day comes(ideal wife for Ding DM) I look for women but find none that especially attracts me.
Yesterday I didnrt now it was geng day and found her in a nearby café.
This tells me that if you know things in advance,they wont happen because your behavior will change
If I knew yesterday was geng id have gone looking for women in another place and miss this opportunity.

Hi,

That’s the known problem of “expectations”.

That’s why I have been telling for years: don’t analyze your own birth chart all the time, don’t look into your fengshui every month.

People who are looking in the tongshu almanac every day are in a living hell, because they cannot do anything without the expectations of good or bad day as indicated by their almanac or astrology. They become slaves of their almanac or date selection system.

Or the annual #5 is over their bedroom, and they are worried all year long… Sometimes it is their own worry that gives them a disease before the end of the year.

That’s the problem of expectations.

the world has never been in a situation like today.
In the past the current disputes were solved with wars. Today a war means the end of civilazation. The only options i can see is to forgive the entire world debt or do away with money altogether.

We have been in this situation before, but nobody is alive to remember it. Check out the Long Depression http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Depression . It started in the same way, too much debt leading to banks going bankrupt, followed by financial contagion and a long period of very high joblessness. It lasted for 23 years.

To wipe out the world debts is not a solution, because it also wipes out the savings of many people who hold the bonds, and it wipes out the accounts of pension funds, which also hold bonds. When people lose their savings and their pension then they will be very angry, and when too much anger has accumulated in the people then they tend to take it out in a war against something or somebody. Some scapegoat is always easily found.

Astrology does not really offer us any answers in this regard.

Basically it is not money that is the problem, it is government that is the problem. And when the problem thinks it is the solution, then you have a real problem.

When the news of the death of the North Korean president appeared, Annie told me that I probably predicted major change for Korea in 2012.

I didn’t remember very well, but it turns out to be true.

In my article “Turning Points in History” I presented an experimental method, partly based on Chinese astrology, and it pointed to 2012 change for Korea.

Here is what I wrote for Korea:

“The next year that offers good chances for change will be #88, so that is 2012. It could also be late #87, 2011, as we can see that the line passes almost between the two.We will watch the news.”

Auspicious days for Lingzhi - the lucid mushrooms in China

Ge Hong, a famous Daoist master from Jin Dynasty in China, writes that for collecting lingzhi (reishi) mushrooms in the mountains, an auspicious day and a proper Yin hour should be chosen. The best will be to do this on a Three Extraordinary Noblemen day 三奇贵人.

The ancients, including Ge Hong, have overly connected symbolic meaning, rituals and day selection to different things and phenomena. It reminds me of the New Age way of spiritualizing everything, even without any reason. Maybe on a regular day unexpectedly they will discover and pluck even more lingzhi mushrooms.

Wedding day selection letter written by a divination master more than 170 years ago in Kaifeng, China. In Ching Dynasty when the people wanted to get married it was common that they first go to ask a bazi master to choose an auspicious date for their wedding. After comparing the couple’s dates and hours of birth, he assigned a date for the marriage.
Here on the picture it is written that there is no clash between the two horoscopes, so the relationship will be very successful.
“乾造乙卯七月三十日子时生……坤造癸未十一月十五日子时生，五月十月大利，四月十月吉利……阴阳不将，夫妇吉昌，麟趾呈祥，乾坤吉利。”

Few years ago I bought a Chinese book on the interconnections between I Ching and Chinese medicine - 《易医时间诊疗》, written by Ren Deze 任得泽 and Ming Yi 明易.

The book is worthwhile and has some interesting ideas. It presents examples of diagnosis of diseases through I Ching; gives a detailed information on the 5 shu points of the meridians, zi wu liu zhu and lin gui ba fa chrono-acupuncture, Zhang Jiabin’s theory of I Ching medicine, etc.

The authors of the book have composed songs for each of the 64 hexagrams, so in the book there are given the notes of these I Ching songs + a CD with the songs.

One of the most interesting parts of this book is the idea that there is a connection between the 28 lunar mansions and the 28 energy points of dumai meridian. Each lunar mansion corresponds to one energy point of the dumai meridian in the body. By checking which lunar mansion corresponds to one’s date of birth, one can find which is the specific acupoint related to him mostly. Then, one can press this point or apply acupuncture on it, in order to strengthen the inner energy and stimulate the healing process.

After presenting this table to my class of about 40~50 students, everyone started pressing the specific acupoint that related to them. Everyone noticed that the place where the acupoint is located is the only painful or sensibly more painful than the other acupoints of dumai meridian. It could be a placebo effect, but the sensations were a fact.

At age 9, this girl did an experiment that debunked a widely practiced treatment that was used by practitioners and nurses in 70 countries, and taught at several universities. Her experiment was simple and elegant.

The practitioners, convinced that their method ‘works’, avoided to be tested by a famous skeptic, but they happily volunteered to help with this girl’s experiment for her school’s science fair.

There is one weak Power at the Month Stem. Water is in 7-sick stage and has no root in the chart. It is also being drained by the Wood in the Branches below it. This girl is not going to be impressed with any Power/authority. This weak Power represents the unfounded theory she debunked easily.

When she did her experiment and published it, she had just entered a LP of Water Rabbit. It shows the same picture: Water (= the weak power/theory) is drained by the Rabbit (Wood).

He tu diagram and the M-theory

According to some Chinese authors, this old Chinese he tu (“River map”) diagram in Chinese metaphysics can serve as a symbolical representation of the modern M-theory.
   It is named “Chart for calculating numbers according to the 10 positions in he tu diagram”.
    In the inner triangle there are 9 white dots; in the middle triangle - 18 dots and in the outer triangle - 27 dots.
    Without the center (the 1 black dot), the total number of all dots is 54. And without the inner triangle, the total number of the dots is 45.

    The M-theory is also known as String theory. It implies 10 dimensions and the mathematical formula goes like this:

SO (10) x 10 = 1 ⊕ 45 ⊕ 54

This he tu diagram was made by Li Guangdi 李光地 (1642－1718), a famous I Ching expert, neo-confucianist and one of the most influential government officials during the reign of emperor Kangxi in China.

Is history Earth element?

We can not categorize everything under just one of the five elements.

And even if we can categorize something under an element, then we can usually discern different parts or aspects of it and attribute them to different elements.
So, not rarely we will find all 5 elements hidden in something.

Let’s say we consider a tree or plant.
Many people will tell us it belongs to wood element.
Looks reasonable.
But when we look at different parts of the plant we can come to different conclusions.
The roots of the plant are related to Water, while the flowers are Fire.
The leaves are Wood and the stem of the plant is Earth.
Its seeds are Metal.
So, we have found all 5 elements within the plant.

Then why do we say that a plant is Wood?

It all depends on the frame of reference and the level on which we are watching it.
