Four Pillars & Feng Shui Network

I was recently teaching fengshui in Northern Italy, by lake Garda. It was neat to be able to step outside to study the mountain formations in real life after having discussed them in the classroom. After the seminars I was shown around and took a photo of a great example of a Pojun (destroying army) mountain.

It is a great mountain with deep ridges. In the past people started cutting down the trees from the mountain side. Then one day with a great rumble, the whole mountain side came down. Strangely enough the only house at the foot of the mountain was barely saved. The landslide stopped only a few meters away from its back wall.

And after we had talked about ghosts, water and willows, we took a walk by the lake and photographed willows, which were not yet grown enough to give ghosts a resting place.

I enjoy observing all sorts of weird things on my travels. Here is a fun one from last summer. This is from a hotel, the door to the hotel restaurant. Next to it is another door, which for most of the time was open.

When you come up to the door of the restaurant, lay your hand on the handle and look to your right, this is what you see:

I don't know how this affects the restaurant. They have a guaranteed clientele - those who stay in the hotel.

Last month I spent a couple of weeks in Transylvania, in an area, which is called the ”salt country”. I participated in a qigong retreat in Sovata, which is known for its salty heliothermal lakes, and had an opportunity to visit Praid, the center of the Szekely Salt Country, where the most notable salt mine is located. The mountains contain huge salt deposits, which have been mined at least from the Roman times. Because of the nature of the soil, agriculture does not thrive there. Salt and forestry are the most important industries. Another important product of the region is honey and you can't avoid the gentle honey bees, who make themselves busy everywhere. I had time to reflect on trigrams and the practices of fengshui when I was getting to know the area. In Shuoguazhuan (or Shuo Gua Zhuan), trigram Dui is given meanings like salty soil and wetland (lower land, where water gathers when it flows down from the mountains forming marshes, swamps and lakes). Dui is also the youngest daughter, the concubine, whose important task was to give birth to sons. We also need to remember that Dui is metal, which represents such things as mouth, lungs and skin.

 

Trigram Kun and the related star Black-2 is often called the star of sickness. Dui or Red-7 is used to ”cure” it.

 

What has all this to do with the salt country, except for the fact that obviously Dui represents this salty ground?

In Sovata, on the 27th May, 1875, at 11 a.m. there was a downpour of rain and lake Ursu (Bear) was born. It took six years to grow into its final size. Around lake Ursu there are five smaller salty lakes. Very soon after the birth of lake Ursu, its saltiness and warmth enticed people to bathe in its water for health. The main problems people find cure for in it are gynecological problems and infertility (remember the concubines and their babies?). The list of other illnesses treated in the salty lake is very long.

One of the smaller lakes is frequented for its black mud, which people take straight from the embankments of the lake and apply to their skin (again that metal).

In Praid, rock salt has been exported all over the continent and what's left, are huge underground vaults. The older parts of the mine are now used for halopathy or salt therapy. Guess what are the illnesses treated by salt/metal: respiratory (metal) diseases. I am now using salt soap (pure salt) on my face and it has cleared up the skin of a 30-year thing in a way I never thought possible. One application of the healthy effects of salt is more widely known: the salt lamps, which are recommended to improve the quality of air we breathe.

A week ago the Finns were shocked by the second senseless school shooting incidence: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kauhajoki_school_shooting A 22-year male student shot a teacher and 9 schoolmates (8 female, 1 male) and finally himself. Flying star chart for the time: year, month and day 1, hour 7.

In the image the two orange buildings are the school. The red square is the classroom where the killings occurred. After this the man ran around and kept shooting at people and throwing Molotov cocktails in different places. The red triangle is one of the places which were set on fire. The red cross marks the place, where the man shot himself. Everything happened on the dragon, i.e. the male side of the building complex. The school buildings face West. There is a river approaching from South, it turns away towards SE, turns back and approaches from East and finally runs away towards NE. Xiantian-Houtian water method and Long Men Ba Da Ju can be used to inspect the influence of the river on the school. Water coming in from South is Houtian water, which brings wealth, but should run across the front of the building. In this case it runs behind the buildings and weakens the health aspect. South is Houtian Li (9), young woman ready for marriage, and Xiantian Qian (6), a leader, also a metal instrument like gun. Water flows into Bin Wei direction, which is good for the sons but not for daughters or sons-in-law (the students "visiting" the school). SE is Xiantian Dui and Houtian Xun, all women. Flying stars are annual, monthly and daily 9 and hourly 6 - all taken away. For those interested in numerological coincidences, the victims were a teacher and 9 students (if we don't count the shooter himself). There were further 9 people, who were targets of shooting, but didn't die. The river turns to run back from East and finally flows away towards NE. This is ”death water” (Wang Shui) coming from Houtian Zhen, Xiantian Li. The river disappears into NE, Xiantian Zhen, Houtian Gen. This is particularly interesting, because it seems that the man started planning this action after his elder brother died in 2002 of a heart failure (Li again) at a young age. Gen represents also graves and graveyards - younger brother (Gen) following (as Houtian to former Xiantian) his elder brother (Zhen) to grave. The main target of the shooting was the shooter's class, which was taking an exam. It is noteworthy that the two directions of out-flowing water are related to academics. The in-flowing waters are in Xiantian and Houtian Li directions - the school specializes in teaching food-related professions like cooking. Stars The stars in South, where the river comes into view from under a bridge, were annual, monthly and daily 5 and hourly 2, which is also the ming gua of the shooter. This year Sansha, Suipo and Wu Dutian are in South. One of the interesting details is that there were 20 students participating in the exams, but only 13 were present at the time of the attack. Only one male was killed and he was supposed to be one of the shooter's best friends - while according to some reports two other male friends didn't show up at school at all that day. It has been impossible to find out the building year, but if we assume that the building where the killings happened (the "new part") was built in period 7, here is the chart: 661 125 843 752 579 397 216 934 488 2, which represents the ming gua of the shooter, is in South, East and NE, all directions pertinent to river flow. It is in combinations of 2-5 and 1-2. The teachers said that this particular class was a "dream class". I wonder if there was some under-lying discord between men and women. It is likely that many students were born in the same year (1986) so the men would be ming gua 2 and women ming gua 1. The fengshui of the place does not determine that something like this shooting is going to happen. People are always responsible for their own actions. However, the place can provide matching energies for certain types of action, a stage for good or bad - that is up to the people performing on the stage.
